Partners in off-grid electrification


USAID Deputy Mission Director Frank Donovan (2nd from right) recently joined (L-R) Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla, Netherlands Ambassador Robert Vornis, USAID-funded Alliance for Mindanao Off-grid Renewable Energy (AMORE) Program chief Tetchi Cruz-Capellan, Philippine National Oil Company Manager for Energy Research Victorino Bala, (back, L-R) Shell Solar Philippines Corporation General Manager Ramin Nadimi, and Mirant Philippines Foundation Executive Director Roberto Calingo at the ARMM Complex in Cotabato City to celebrate the completion of their partnership that has brought solar-powered electricity to close to 4,000 homes in 129 remote villages mostly in the ARMM. Sec. Lotilla cited the event as a realization of President Arroyo’s vision of “Power for all and all for power.”
