AMORE joins first ever Economic and Environment Summit in Tawi-Tawi
AMORE, as a prime mover in the electrification of Tawi-Tawi, joined civil society groups last September 16-17 during the Economic and Environment Summit. The Program presented its contributions to the delisting of Tawi-Tawi from the top 20 list of the poorest provinces in the country and shared its best practices. Participants to the Summit were also introduced to the newest approach to rural electrification – the sustainable solar market packages approach. Though AMORE has already electrified 74 villages and 13 schools in the province, the Program remains firm in its continuing commitment to delivery clean energy services to remote barangays in Tawi-Tawi. As a follow-up activity, it will also work with other civil society groups in the drafting of the environmental code of Tawi-Tawi.
