Micro-Hydro Power Specialist
The Alliance for Mindanao and Multi-Regional Off-Grid Renewable Energy (AMORE 2) program supports electrification of rural communities using renewable energy systems in Mindanao,
Philippines, with a special focus on community and social preparation, training and technical
assistance, and renewable energy project development, installation and operation. The partners
in the Alliance are the US Agency for International Development (USAID), former Mirant
Philippines, the Philippine Department of Energy, the Autonomous Region of Muslim
Mindanao (ARMM), and Winrock International.
Qualifications:
- A licensed BSCE, BSME or BSEE
- Must have at least five (5) years experience in micro hydro power project development and management
- Must have excellent understanding of micro hydro power systems including the preparation of feasibility studies, hydrology analysis, civil works, electro-mechanical works, transmission and distribution lines, demand survey and analysis, tariff setting and operation and maintenance system.
- Must have the capacity to serve as team leader and must be able to write proposals and reports
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under very tight performance schedules;
- Commitment to AMORE alliance goals of empowering communities and improving lives of people in the ARMM;
- Willing to travel in Mindanao; and Excellent written and oral communication skills both in English and Filipino.
